| Self blocking, means a kind of nipple that also without a pre-load generated by the interference between the threaded spoke border and the nylon ring inserted in the nipple itself, has an unscrewable braking couple. The wheel is moving. This movement creates some loss in the spoke tension and this phenomenon destabilises the spoke/nipple connection (if the nipples is un-loaded it can be unscrewed). Since years the ABS system is successfully used in the bicycle sector. |
